May 5, 2021 6:30 PM OHS Library Call to Order: 6:30 PM by Jim Prouty Secretary’s Report: Posted on oelweinhuskybc.weebly.com - Approved. Treasurer’s Report: E-mailed to Booster Club members - Approved. AD Report: BB/SB are starting practice. Masks are not mandatory and social distancing is requested when possible. Reminding the coaches and players that it is their personal responsibility to be safe and the importance of covid cases to notify right away. Exposure could potentially mean seniors might have to miss graduation. Only a few remaining spots left on the concession schedule. Hoping the wrestling program can pick them up now that a coach is in place. IN the future, look to take responsibility off the coaches for lining up help. Discussed options such as parent sign-up, hired organizer, food trucks, etc. With covid funds, there’s purchasing of new equipment, balls, etc. Timing could be ideal for a campaign for a storage shed, indoor hitting, performance center, etc. Would need to talk to city administrators, school administrators & NEIA Charitable Foundation. Continuing efforts of branding new image with “Husky Edge”. Coaches Open Forum: No discussion. Old Business: Elementary Track meet (May 1, 2021) - 82 participants considered a great turnout for the first year and the quick timeline of getting registration information out before the event. A lot of positive response and thank you to volunteers. Going forward, we need to push the info out sooner and also talk with Park & Rec to keep the weekend free. Discussion of dates and decided to continue with 1st Saturday in May. Golf Outing - 12 teams so far and can host up to 20. Great response for hole sponsors. Will need 4-6 non-golfing volunteers. Motion for miscellaneous expense for golf tournament to be covered made by Nick, second by Erin. Motion carried. Summer Concessions - Almost stocked and ready. Requested a printed sheet of all directions. Will update what is out at the concession shack and distribute to all coaches ahead of time. Think about ideas for a griller so it is always covered. For future reference, pop machines & freezers are starting to wear. Terry Rex (MS Equipment) - Request for dot pads for speed & agility as part of growing Strength & Conditioning program. Motion to give funds for the purchase of the dot pads for MS S&C program made by Lindsey, second by Missy. Motion carried. Athlete of the Month: April was Spencer and Malaina. Members read nominations and voted. May selections were Brennan and Dani. Ron will present awards. New Business: None. Open Forum: Thank you to Jean for her years of service.
