Varsity conference is following a 2 day format with us hosting the second day on Saturday 10/17. Mr. Schauf could use about 15 people to help, mainly needing line judges yet. Regional play will begin 10/19 for volleyball which will be announced later this week. IHSAA has announced that winter sports will continue to move forward just as always. Covid guidelines may follow with state recommendations. We have been proactive and ahead of protocol by using masks and our sanitizing protocols. A partial wish list from some coaches, but not all was presented to the booster club. Discussion was to form a committee to discuss this list and form a plan and schedule on items. This committee will be headed by Jim Prouty and will include Mr. Schauf. Will need another volunteer. The school is looking at being more selective about expenses going out rather saying yes to so many things, for example the student activity passes were not approved this year at a discounted rate. They need to be individually purchased this year. Mr. Schauf will need to leave early due to other commitments. Coaches Open Forum: no report Old Business: Fall Fund Drive – Mr. Rex and Jim P have been working on getting the Paypal account set up and should be ready by the end of the week. Terry will put on the website and Varsity bound site. A QR code has been posted so the donars can be seen on the website. There were 180 letters sent out to businesses for fall donations with 35 returns for $6900.00, personal we have 18 donations for $1775.00. We will owe the school $400.00 for activity passes. Glenda will send a bill after the end of November which has been set as a date to end the fall fund drive. New Business: Huskycast: Dan Stasi has been calling on www.thehuskycast.com now for 7.5 years and has thoroughly enjoyed it. He covers baseball/softball, volleyball, football, boys/girls basketball and wrestling. He thanks the Booster Club for the support over the years. The cost is either $200.00/season or $600.00 for the entire year. New graphics are up that were designed by a former Oelwein grad for Dan. MOTION: Missy made a motion to approve $600.00 for the year to continue with the huskycast call, Second: Ron Voshell. All ayes, motion carried. Training equipment: Mike V reported he currently has to carry multiple bags for equipment which then has to be placed in garbage bags in the event of rain. He would like to get a Milwaukee System that would include 7 pieces that can be stacked and rolled out as a unit. Cost would be $443.00.
